Corruption outreach and education for the state apparatus that took place in East Jakarta Mayor office, Thursday (5/22), seems less desirable by local authority officials. The program that should be attended by 125 SKPD officials looks deserted, which infuriated East Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Husein Murad.

“ This event is held in official program, in working hours, and using the state budget. There should be no excuse for SKPDs to not following it ,” stated Murad in Scheme Room of East Jakarta Mayor Office.

The event is supposed to be attended by sub-department heads, section heads, office heads, sub-district heads, and urban village heads in East Jakarta Administration.

“I asked Legal Division to check one by one who does not attend this activity. The event organizer also should have known why there are so many participants skipping it,” he asserted.

According to Murad, in performing their duties, government officials are obliged to serve the public which cannot be separated from the use of City Budget (APBD) and State Budget (APBN). Unfortunately, in its implementation, there are still state apparatuses do not understand the procedures of budget use.

“That’s the importance of this event. As government administrator, we must be careful of corruption latent dangers. In this case, there should be corruption prevention act in budget management,” he uttered.
